Welcome to Stockyard Animal Health & Consulting. By accessing or using our veterinary telemedicine services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Services Overview

Stockyard Animal Health & Consulting provides veterinary telemedicine consultation services for farm animals and companion animals in the State of Florida. Our services include video consultations, health assessments, treatment recommendations, and prescription services where appropriate.

Important: Our telemedicine services are not a substitute for emergency veterinary care. If your animal is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please contact your local emergency veterinary clinic immediately.

2. Eligibility

To use our services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of or have animals located in Florida
  • Provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your animals
  • Have the legal authority to make medical decisions for the animals presented

3. Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR)

A valid Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship is required for certain services, including prescriptions. By using our services, you understand that:

  • The veterinarian must have sufficient knowledge of your animal to make diagnoses
  • You must follow the veterinarian's instructions and recommendations
  • The veterinarian is available for follow-up consultation
  • Some conditions may require an in-person examination

4. Telemedicine Limitations

You acknowledge and understand that:

  • Telemedicine consultations have inherent limitations compared to in-person examinations
  • The veterinarian can only assess what can be observed via video
  • Certain diagnostic tests and procedures cannot be performed remotely
  • The veterinarian may recommend an in-person visit if telemedicine is insufficient
  • Technology issues may affect the quality of the consultation

5. Your Responsibilities

When using our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your animal's health history
  • Ensure your animal is present and visible during video consultations
  • Follow all treatment recommendations and instructions provided
  • Seek emergency care when advised or when your animal's condition worsens
  • Maintain a stable internet connection for video consultations
  • Keep your account information secure and confidential

6. Fees and Payment

By scheduling a consultation, you agree to pay the applicable fees:

  • Consultation fee: $60 per session
  • Payment is due at the time of booking
  • Prescription medications are charged separately if applicable
  • All fees are non-refundable once the consultation has begun

7. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows may be subject to the full consultation fee.

8. Prescriptions

Prescriptions are issued at the sole discretion of the veterinarian when medically appropriate. Certain medications, including controlled substances, may not be available through telemedicine services. You agree to use any prescribed medications only as directed and only for the animal for which they were prescribed.

9. Text Message Communications

By providing your phone number during registration, you consent to receive text messages from us, including:

  • Appointment reminders and confirmations
  • Service updates and important notifications
  • Promotional messages (you may opt out at any time)

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Text STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing services.

10. Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website and platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Stockyard Animal Health & Consulting and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stockyard Animal Health & Consulting shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the services giving rise to the claim.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee any specific outcomes from our consultations or treatments.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stockyard Animal Health & Consulting, its veterinarians, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our services or violation of these Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Florida.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
